FRP plate has the advantages of high temperature resistance, aging resistance, corrosion resistance, high strength, light weight and non deformation, thermal insulation, insulation, sound insulation, long service life, beautiful and comfortable appearance, fast molding, less investment, etc. It adapt to modern bus with high grade, more variety, it is more meet nowadays bus performance and requirements: environmental protection, low fuel consumption, comfort, safety, power, moderate cost and so on. FRP will become the best choice of high-grade passenger car's outer covering material.
FRP external skin plate is compounded of thermosetting plastic box reinforced glass fiber, the strength is more than steel and aluminum, is one of the important engineering materials. Products don't have trial deformation and fission in ultra high temperature and low temperature, they have low thermal conductivity. They solve the problems: traditional materials can't be easily cleaned, easy to sag deformation, hard to install, poor durability, easy to wear, poor impact resistant performance and so on. In Europe and US, all bus manufacturers have used glass steel as external skin plate, some domestic top brand vehicles have completed all the products application design modification, and enter to overall service.
FRP bus roof outer skin panel installation process:
A: Raw material FRP(coil) length<150m, width<2.6m;
B: Feeding: 1. According to the required size to cut in FRP panel; 2. Roll the cut coils into small rolls and wait for installation.
C: Apply the glue to the bus roof frame long edge: 1. Carry the small rolls on the roof and unfold them; 2. Apply the special car structural adhesive on the unilateral bracket of roof; 3. Make the FRP long side align up against unilateral frame, press to the special vehicle glue, then use side angle and clamp to compact; 4. Finally, compact and consolidate the glass steel and another side of vehicle frame with the same process, finalize the design after 3-6 hours.
D: Apply the glue to interior of the bus roof frame: apply the special vehicle glue to the contact of glass steel and vehicle frame, and make firmly solidified.
E: Apply the glue to the top ends of bus: 1. Apply the structure adhesive to the end of the bus roof; 2. press the edge to make the glue solidified.
F: Nail four sides: 1. When the glue is solidified, remove all fixtures, bore rivet in FRP and roof frame four sides, and then polish the rivets; 2. Coat with a layer of structure adhesive at the rivets as appearance treatment.
